The COUNTER Scientific and Stakeholder Advisory Group (SSAG) has a major impact on driving the ambitions of the project. This group consists of highly motivated leading scientists and key representatives from trade, consumer and policy agencies who together ensure that COUNTER’s research is both robust and relevant. The principal tasks performed by the Scientific Advisory Group are to:
- Advise on content, quality, scope and direction of the project
- Assist in decisions about milestones and deliverables
- Suggest, whenever appropriate/necessary, alternatives in the project’s approach
- Attend evaluation meetings in order to discuss the progress and quality of the project
- Support in approving scientific progress and advise on success in dissemination information
Members of the Advisory Group will receive pre-publication copies of COUNTER output for consultation.
The Advisory Group meets at approximately six monthly periods to inform and shape COUNTER’s research ensuring that the highest academic standards are met and that relevance to stakeholder is maintained and dissemination methods appropriate.
The next meeting will take place:
- 12th May 2009: Uppsala, Sweden (see Mashing-up Culture workshop)
The previous meeting took place:
- 17th December 2008, Vienna, Austria
