Models for Managing Intellectual Property Rights on the Internet: Online Distribution of Digital Media Content

This panel will examine models for managing Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) on the Internet. It will present the key results and recommendations of work package 7 of the COUNTER Project which empirically examined models of legal online distribution of digital content and their associated licensing regimes. The business, legal and social implications of these models, and associated recommendations for key stakeholders, will also be discussed. There will also be presentations from other academics and lawyers working in this area, and a general discussion of the key issues raised by the speakers in the final part of the panel.
